Focus on Cheyenne - An Update
Hello again, as most of you know, my name is Cheyenne, and I'm here once again to give an update on what has been happening in my life since my last Focus Story!
I ended my first Focus Story, by leaving off that a paternity test was pending on my first son Ethan with my ex boyfriend Trevor, and coming to the end of my second pregnancy. I left you knowing that I was 6 weeks away from delivering a second little boy, and now I'm back to update how my life has played out since the ending of that story!
So let me start with picking up on the situation with my son Ethan. A final paternity test was done the second week of November 2006, and the results came back the first week of December, and those results were a positive match, with a 99.999% probability of Trevor being Ethan's father. I was very relieved that it was over with. Now-a-days, Ethan is 18 almost 19 months old, and sees his daddy every other week, and loves going over there! There are rough grounds between Trevor and I but we put our differences and anger towards each other aside for our son, for we know that we can't change the past, nor would we want to because we have a very handsome little boy together!
Continuing on with how the rest of my pregnancy played out. It was perfect, two weeks before the end of my pregnancy my doctor and I set the date for delivery. My cesarean section was scheduled for December 20th 2006. As the days went by, I grew very anxious for that day to come, and finally it arrived. At 7am I checked in to Knoxville Hospitals & Clinics, registered and went down to OB, where I was set up in my room, got an IV started. Then my doctor came in and talked to me, along with the anesthesiologist and explained everything that was going to happen (which I already knew for I had been through it once before.)
Around 8:50am I was taken into the operating room, where they finished getting me prepped for my surgery, and before I knew it, the first incision was made and everything was on a roll.
At 9:30am on December 20th 2006, my second son, who I named Emory Mitchell was born, weighing in at 7 pounds 5 ounces and 21 inches long, very healthy, and I was once again a very happy and very proud mother!
As regarding my divorce pending, that action is still the same, divorce papers were filed on April 9th 2007. As for how I am feeling about that, I'm very happy, and very relieved that soon this will all be over!
To tell you all the truth, my life in my view is perfect. God blessed with two of the most precious gifts any woman could ask for, and that is my 2 wonderful sons, Ethan Michael, and Emory Mitchell, who I must say, both have saved my life. They are my world, my pride and joy, my everything, my reason for breathing, my reason for waking up every morning, my reason for wanting to go on in life, and there is not one thing that I would trade about this life, I absolutely love it, and wouldn’t trade my boys for anything or anyone! There is not one day that goes by that I don't thank the good lord above for giving me these boys, to me, this was my calling from God, this is what he planned for my life, and I am very grateful for that!
To all the young mothers and fathers out there, I want you to remember, that yes, it may be hard, and you have times where you think you’ll never get through this, but guess what, you will, you know why, because God never gives us more than what we can handle, he sees us every day, every minute of our lives, and knows that we can handle any situation that he hands us. Trust me I know, I am a single mother who is 19 years old raising two children who are both under the age of 2 years, I have an 18 month old, and a 4 month old, and yes, I get down on myself and think that I’m never going to get through the hard times, but I have family and friends who help me keep my head up, and believe. I also have a wonderful group of other young mothers on a parenting website/forum that I turn to when needing someone to talk to and they are very helpful, and very supportive, and they are this group, they are my family, my family at OneYoungParent.com. Thank you ladies for all the support you've given me.
Remember, everything that happens in life happens for a reason, no matter how good, or how bad, how easy or how difficult the situation may be!
Thank you for taking the time to read my Focus Story.
Cheyenne, loving and devoted mother to Ethan & Emory!
