15 And Pregnant
I was 15 when I found myself to be pregnant. At first it seemed kind of unreal because of the fact that my family doctor had done a blood test, which had came out negative. Right away I was calling my friend, Caleigh, telling her the news. I told her I wanted her with me when I told Ryan. I thought it was going to be the hardest thing to do. Him and I had only been dating since April 1 2005, and I found out I was pregnant in late May. First I went over to Caleigh's and we started walking to Ryan's. When we got to Ryan's he was at his neighbours. I told him we needed to talk, alone. He got a worried look on his face and asked what he'd done. I simply said nothing as we went upstairs to his room to talk. When we got to his room he shut his door. So here's Caleigh and I sitting on his bed, and he's standing up in front of me. I looked at him and told him I was pregnant. For the first little while he was excited. Then I took him and Caleigh back to my aunts to show him the positive HPT. I think that once he realized I REALLY was pregnant and how hard it would be he freaked out. Really though, what did I expect? He had just turned 15 and was in grade 9. He soon began to ignore me, and I broke it off with him. Instantly, he started denying paternity. When I got my first ultrasound, I took it over to his house to show him. He just brushed it off his shoulder and later came to me and said "it wasn't his". His mother, she didn't even believe I was pregnant until I showed her the ultrasound. On November 26 2005 my best friend, Dustin, and I started dating. He was there for me during my whole pregnancy and he was there for the birth. We've been together since.
Ashton
On January 31 2006 my OB finally agreed to induce. I was already 2 days overdue and I was so relieved to hear those words. We sent the date for February 2 2006 at 7:00AM. So on that day we made our way to the hospital. I got all hooked up to the machines. After a labour of 13.5 hours Ashton Brody-James finally made his way into the world. He weighed in at 8 lbs 4 oz and 22" long. Like I said, Dustin has always been there. As for Ryan and his family. They came to their senses and now have visitations. They get Ashton twice weekly for 15 hours weekly. But I have custody of him, which is for the best. Ashton is going to be 1 in two days. Would I change the way my life has turned up so far? No. I love being a mother. I love Ashton more then anything. I can't believe it's almost been a year.
